Details
1. Title: Fellowship in Clinical Microbiology (CM) and Infection Prevention Control (IPC)
2. Duration: 12 months
3. Post: 2 Post MD /DNB Microbiology
– 1 post starting October 1, 2025
– 1 post starting December 2025
4. Venue: Microbiology Lab at P.D. Hinduja Hospital and Medical Research Centre.
Rationale
-The Microbiology laboratory is state-of-the-art and accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).
-The Microbiology laboratory at Hinduja Hospital serves as a large referral laboratory in Mumbai.
-Awarded with ICMR CCoE for TB and ICMR reference laboratory for Mycology for Western region.
-Collaboration with ICMR, AIIMS, Oxford, UK, GARDP, the US CDC, Johns Hopkins, FIND for various projects.
Proposed Teaching Learning Methods:
In addition to handling routine microbiology work, suggested teaching learning methods will be through:
a. Microbiology routine work
b. Case presentations
c. Minimum of one research project with publication
d. Lectures by mentors
e. Ward rounds in infectious disease and IPC
f. Attendance at Hospital Infection Control Meetings and AMSP meetings
g. Attendance in outbreak control meetings if any opportunity presents
h. Attendance in Conference conducted pertaining to Microbiology/ IPC and Infectious diseases with poster/Oral presentation
